It's time to strap on a pair of dungarees to push potties through the snow.

We take you to the 13th annual Nemo Outhouse Races.

On Saturday teams were skidding across the finish line to raise money for the NAJA Shriners.

In Western South Dakota alone, the group takes care of more than 600 children, transporting them to the Shriner Hospitals for their medical appointments free of charge to the families.

Dale Claymore, potentate, Naja Shriners, says, "It's for the kids. You see some of these kids that come to us and what the Shrine does for them. You see the smile on those little kids' faces, being able to run around, play ball and everything with the other kids, it's just amazing what the Shrine can do for the children."

Part of the fun of the Outhouse Races is riding in a contraption like this one. Teams of two to five need to push the Outhouse while one other person needs to sit in it.

From teams like Presidential Poopers to Dump N Run, people pushed porcelain thrones to support the nonprofit.

Peggy Nervig, Royal Throne team captain and Outhouse racer, says, "It's special and I really totally agree with doing anything in a community you can to make a difference for other people's families. It's great. It's for a very important cause and not enough people in the Black Hills know about it. We need to get it advertised bigger and make it twice as big next year."

This year the Shriners hope to raise about $6,000.

Dale Claymore says, "Oh, it's great. I mean you just see all these cars, and people coming in. They've been here before. It's just fun to see it. Everybody's just happy, having a good time. Whether it's cool or whatever it is, they come out and have fun doing this. It's a great time."

Our own KOTA and KEVN Outhouse team raced as well.
